How should my league make picks?
FanDraft is massively flexible, and so how you choose to implement it into your draft is really what works best with you.
A frequent question we get from users is: HOW SHOULD WE MAKE OUR PICKS?
There is no right answer, but here are just a few ideas to choose from:
-
Do it like the NFL
Have owners walk their picks over on a piece of paper to the commissioner, who then announces it to the league, and enters it into FanDraft. This is the most standard method of leagues.
-
A lazier version of the NFL
Have owners announce their own picks, and then the Commissioner enters it in after they announce it. Most leagues start off with the first option, and then do this method towards the end of the draft.
-
Have a dedicated laptop that owners walk up to and put their pick in
Not the most fun or efficient way, but it gets the job done. Especially if the commissioner is a bit lazy, and a laptop is wired via HDMI to the TV.
-
Pass around an iPad
Sign into your league on a 2nd device, such as an iPad. Then pass around the iPad to owners making a pick.
-
Have owners create accounts and enter their own picks
This takes the draft day onus off of the commish, but takes some pre-draft setup to get owners signup up and activated. You can learn how to INVITE owners to draft remotely, by clicking here.
