How does the Auto Draft work?

We have built an algorithm that will automatically draft the best players based on player rankings, and team needs (derived from your roster rules). The commissioner can also always utilize the "Commissioner mode" at their disposal to enter in picks on behalf of teams, or change auto-drafted players, at the desire of the commissioner.

The auto-draft will generally avoid selecting multiple players from the same positions during the early rounds of the draft. However, as the draft proceeds into the middle and later rounds, a priority is placed on assuring that a team is selecting a legal rosters based on league rules, and secondly by player rankings.

The auto-draft uses the position MIN/MAX and roster size values, from the league settings area, during this process. In leagues with very flexible rosters, eg a Max position very high for all positions, it thus leagues a large amount of room to them simply select the next highest ranked player. For these leagues, there may be situations where players from the same position group can be selected consecutively. This happens if it so happens the next highest player is in that same position group when the auto-drafter is up for selection.
